In 1991, I was 40 years old and starting to see the signs of peri-menopause. I was having trouble falling asleep at night. My mind would race, fretting about my to-do list.

I finally had to sleep in a separate room because my husband’s snoring felt like fingernails on a chalk board. I felt terrible because he felt rejected. It really had an impact on our intimacy.

During the day, I got easily upset over the slightest things. I was even afraid to drive sometimes because I might nod off at the wheel!

Over the next 15 years, I studied many natural and holistic healing techniques which have helped me understand the mind’s role in sleeping problems.

I became a certified massage therapist, movement educator and body-mind awareness teacher.
